The feature film Never Turn Back presents dance interwoven with storytelling.
Shot on location throughout the UK, this kaleidoscopic film is an accumulation of fragments travelling back and forth across the boundary of real and surreal to embody the feeling of bereavement heightening the senses to the point of becoming detached and disassociated.
Each scene focuses on a different central character, all of whom have been sidelined or are experiencing alienation. Guiding the viewer through a collection of pivotal moments, Never Turn Back explores the universal theme of grief and human resilience through ambiguous presentations of interactions for the viewer to bring their own interpretation to.
The value of the film for audiences lies in its surprising and refreshing approach, a new form of dance presentation.
