In January 1975, Pink Floyd entered Abbey Road Studios, fresh from the success of Dark Side Of The Moon, to produce one of rock's greatest albums of all time, Wish You Were Here - based on their own back-story, the story of childhood friend, Syd Barrett, one time lead vocalist and principle songwriter of Pink Floyd and also describing the perils of the vacuous music business which the band found themselves trapped in.

This documentary features specially shot interviews, with the surviving members of Pink Floyd - David Gilmour, Roger Waters and Nick Mason. discussing the recording of this classic album. It is peppered throughout with archive performance, original animations and Pink Floyd films from the stage shows to tell the story of a band fractured and disparate after global success, as professional and personal relationships collapse around them.

Additional interviewees include Storm Thorgerson, artist Gerald Scarfe, backing singer Vanetta Fields and other collaborators from the album, including vocalist Roy Harper and Abbey Road session engineer Brian Humphries.
