White Light Distribution unveils new slate at Mipcom

White Light Distribution, the licensing division of White Light International Media Ltd has launched its new slate of music and arts documentary film and live concert releases at Mipcom.

The London-based distributor, led by Andrew Winter and Louise Brookes unveiled several new releases in Cannes including Coldplay: A Head Full Of Dreams, an in-depth and intimate portrait of Coldplay’s spectacular rise to fame directed by Mat Whitecross; Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival 2019 filmed by leading director Martyn Atkins in a 17-camera 4K shoot, The Story Of Ready Steady Go, the brand new BBC documentary on iconic 1960s music TV series, Ready Steady Go and special compilation The Best Of Ready Steady Go, featuring performances by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Who.

The company has also announced that it is handling international broadcast rights for Romeo and Juliet, the new film from Footwork Films in association with The Royal Ballet and BBC TWO. Directed by Michael Nunn and William Trevitt, Romeo and Juliet takes Kenneth MacMillan’s choreography out of the theatre and places it in the streets of Verona, set to a unique recording of Sergei Prokofiev’s original score performed by the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House and features the current generation of stars of The Royal Ballet. The film will have an exclusive, one-night only release in Curzon cinemas throughout the UK on Monday 16 December and will be broadcast on BBCTWO on Christmas Day.
